Foggy Thirds

Flo and friends have been singing the praises of progression runs, as described on McMillan’s site.So this morning I had a bit of fun doing a “thirds” progression instead of the scheduled easy run with strides.
Two miles easy, then two miles at regular pace, and finally two miles at marathon pace. Actually I ended up nearer threshold pace. Fun, and like most quality sessions, you feel like you’ve done something afterwards.

To make it a full six miles, and to get off the usual track, I crossed the bridge onto Bay Farm Island and ran along the shore until it was time to turn around. It was eerie on the unlit trail in the fog. I shone my flashlight at the ground to stay on course and avoid plunging into the bay. I’ll leave that little evolution to the triathletes.

Sounds like a interesting run in the fog. Glad I finally got a light, not that I need it alot but nice to know I got it. Around here I might be able to run across lakes.
