More on Form

kaiser_midwayHere’s a picture of me racing on Sunday. I look a little stressed, don’t I?  Perhaps I’m kicking for the finish? Actually no, this was taken at around the halfway mark! Apart from the sweat and gaspy look, I don’t look like I’m doing 7:30. I’m told that I have an economical style that looks deceptive. But that front foot looks like it’s still landing slightly forward, so I’m not done yet with the form adjustments. I came across an interesting article on this subject today on Active.com: Can Running Technique be Taught? The thrust of the article is that we’re all different, so cookie-cutter running methods like Chi or Pose may only benefit some people. But each individual can definitely learn to run better. The suggestions on how to set about it are intriguing. Sprinting drills, sure, I have already figured that out, but running when tired? Really?

I think you look pretty good here! Fix away, but I don’t think you have much tweaking to do.
